Turn off your Box. Then turn it on. Press the Vol+ Button during Boot. If the IP adress shown in your VFD Connect with AzUp 2.1.6 and flash the newest Kernel. After that reproduce the Steps before and flash the Soft.

When rebooting after looking through all options in menus and trying both skins. I get a green screen just after openrsi boots saying
"We are really sorry, your STB encouintered a software problem , and needs to be restarted. Please send the logfile created in
/HDD/ to forum at www.opensat4all.com/
Your STB restarts in XX seconds.
Component: Enigma2, signal."
."
This reboots over and over.
Hadn't used FTP to upgrade, used the internet connection.
I installed openrsi over the net and it was working perfectly , until this.
I have tried holding > during boot up no IP is visible and I can't connect using the LAN settings I had installed.
I have tried a pen drive with MeE2181 from AZBOX website, renamed to patch on a Fat and FAT32.
It seems to look at the pen but then goes on to openrsi.
Can't link to the azbox, no idea what IP is. Not what I set it to.
Tried AZUp, FileZilla and coreFTP with the same result, no connection.
Tried a null modem cable directly between devices and via my router on straight cables.
I had it set on 192.168.0.250 should I be trying something else ?
At the moment I'm stuck trying to boot from pendrive.
If I hold down > on start up, the small screen says "BOOTING" then "VFD READY" and seems to stop. Nothing on TV.
If I let it boot with pen drive in it says "BOOTING" then "VFD READY" then "USB CHECK !" then "RESCUE MODE ?" scrolls across the display. Then blank for a few seconds, then "STARTING BOOTUP PROCE.." . before it finishes that message " STARTING OpenRSI" and the TV screen comes on with Open RSI background, after a few seconds 2 rotating cogs appear in the top left of screen then the green crash screen. From here it rolls back to "STARTING OpenRSI" and goes round and round.
Am I suppose to intervene when "RESCUE MODE ?". Have tried "OK" button on machine and remote, couldn't think of anything else
HELP or Suggestions

Did you change to an other skin, that is the most often reason for green screens.

You can upload the crashlog as a file here... But please zip and not as text in de message.

It looks like that your Box doesn´t get an IP-Adress. Is your Router set to DHCP?? And not holding > during Bootup. It´s the Vol+ Button on your RCU.
Turn off Box --> Turn on --> press Vol+ to get an IP. And your Box must be connected with a NetworkCable. WIFI doesn´t work @boot.

Hallo imatele

If your Azbox is not responding and it only flashing IP address in the front display, bat cannot be connect you azbox is stucked
It is possible to recover it but you will need to purchase an adapter cable, or Azbox Yamon Rescue Cable .
And follow the procedure now to recover a blocked Azbox

Here is the kink where you can purchase the Azbox Yamon Rescue Cable
http://www.azboxshop...l-products.html

And here the Software you need to recover your Azbox:
http://azupd.nl/RecoverAzbox.zip

Tested: follow the tuto procedure step by step it works very well

Hi,

I'm having the same problem with my Azbox as both Rajan & Rob.

It boots to an error message "We are really sorry. Your STB encountered a software problem ..."  I can boot using the Vol+ button & it gives me the IP address of the box but I'm not sure how to recover from the problem.

The error message tells me to send the logfile created in /hdd/ however, when i FTP to the box, I cannot locate the /hdd/ directory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

regards,

Paul.

Wich azbox hand what firmware are you trying?

If you can boot into rescue mode (vol+), you can recover the firmware using azup.

Good luck!

Hi ribbe82,

i am using a Premium Plus HD.  i am not trying to apply firmware.  I had changed to another skin & when i rebooted, this problem occurred.  Is there a guide on how to use Azup to recover?

What ip address do you get on your box if you do the vol+ proces?

Now i don't have a azbox, but i know some network tricks with almost bricked devices ;-)

Try to flash with computer who has ethernet adapter in same range as the ip on the box, and use crossed linked cable.

Example, if settop box has as ip(not from dhcp, but from device default) 192.168.1.100

Then get a computer who has already the uptodate firmware file that you want to flash on the computer, and disconnect it from network.

Configure the ethernatadapter on computer with fixed settings, in same range as ip of box. (use as subnet mask 255.255.255.0)

So give computer a ip like 192.168.1.101

Then connect computer and box with a crossed linked ethernet cable.

And with computer flash the box in the way it should over the network(browser or azup), and use the box ip address. Flash it with the firmware you already have ready on the computer.

After flashing is successfully done, remove crossed linked cable, and set computer back with network connection it already had, same with box.

Thanks Jeroensky & ribbe82,

My box has an ip address, 192.168.1.86 & I can connect to the box from my pc using ftp.

I don't know the firmware version of the box.  Back in November last, I upgraded from the official/original AZBOX software to OpenPLI OpenRSI via the Internet using the menu option, as described in the video on the forum.  The upgrade seem to be sucessful until i changed to another skin.  On reboot, I got the green error message described above.  The box is then stuck in a loop rebooting.

I have downloaded AZUP 2.2.7 so I am just looking for some guidance on how to recover the box using AZUP.  i have downloaded the latest firmware (OpenRSI-3.0-azboxhd-20130209).  What settings do I choose in AZUP to apply the new software and, hopefully, fix the problem?

regards,

Paul.

Shanwick just delete the skin you installed by FTP, so let the box boot ( and it will be rebooting but that doesn't matter )

Connect with FTP and delete the skin you installed, you can find the skin in

/usr/share/enigma2

Once you deleted the skin wich you had installed the box will reboot OK
